Employee stands in front of a schedule.

Switching from Paychex?

Know where payroll stands before you move it.

Paychex Flex may hold your payroll reports, tax records, and information for other services your business uses. We’ll review what has already been processed, agree on your first pay date with Payroll Northeast, and set up your payroll from there.

Records to gather

Start with your recent Payroll Journals, an Employee Earnings Record for the current year, and copies of payroll tax filings and payment records. We’ll review the wages, taxes, and deductions already processed and let you know what else we need for your account.

Check connected services

If you also use Paychex for time tracking, benefits, retirement, or workers’ compensation, tell us before you close the account. We’ll identify which services are part of the payroll change and which need their own plan.

Make the handoff

We’ll confirm the last payroll Paychex will handle, review any pending tax payments or filings, and set your first payroll date with us. Then Payroll Northeast handles your pay runs, payroll taxes, and reporting, with a team that knows your business.

Can I switch during the year?
Yes. We bring your year-to-date wages and taxes into the new payroll setup, so you don’t need to wait until January.
