How the switch works
1. We plan the handoff.
We agree on your first pay date with Payroll Northeast and confirm which payrolls, tax payments, and filings your current provider will handle.
2. We review your records.
We’ll tell you which records to gather, including current-year payroll reports, employee wage and tax totals, recent tax filings and payments, pay rates, deductions, and direct deposit information. We review them with you before your first pay run.
3. We set up your payroll.
We review pay rates, deductions, direct deposit, and payroll tax accounts with you. Setup and conversion are included at no additional cost.
4. We process your first payroll.
Once your records and setup are checked, our team handles your first pay run. You’ll have someone familiar to turn to when questions come up.
Before you cancel
Save copies of your payroll reports and tax forms before closing your current account. We’ll confirm the handoff dates and who will handle outstanding tax payments, quarterly returns, and W-2s.
If your current provider also handles time tracking, benefits, or HR, tell us so we can review what needs to stay in place.
